The location of the project on the axis of Mesogeion Avenue, an area with an obvious tendency for the development of commercial and office activities, was a challenge for the integration of the building in the existing urban environment. It consists of 4,200 sq.m. of parking spaces spread over two underground levels. The intervention in the existing building includes the remodeling of the interiors and the redesign of the facades.
The project was studied and executed in five consecutive phases in order to ensure the smooth and continuous operation of the company, in parallel with the intervention work carried out in various parts of the complex. The main goal of the intervention both inside and outside the building was the best management of natural light. In this direction was carried out:
– Creating larger openings in order to provide more light in the exhibition spaces; and
– Application of aluminum blinds in combination with perforated sheet metal curtains for the control of natural light in the floor areas.
At the same time, the choice of the slight slope of 7 degrees in the configuration of the façade on Mesogeion Avenue gives an aggressive dynamic to the relationship of the building with the parallel road axis.
