Following the redesign of the ground-floor areas of the ERGO Insurance building complex, attention turned to the upper floors of the two main buildings, which hosts the company’s offices.
The architectural concept focuses on creating a contemporary and functional work environment that balances transparency, flexibility, and privacy wherever needed.
A key design principle was to organize workstations in an open-plan layout along the perimeter of each floor, maximizing access to natural light. At the center, enclosed spaces such as meeting rooms, phone booths, and printing stations are arranged as distinct “islands.” These areas, used intermittently, provide acoustic and visual separation, supporting both focused work and collaboration. Circulation flows smoothly around these central islands, ensuring intuitive movement throughout the space.
Executive offices are designed as enclosed areas maintaining visual connection with the rest of the workspace, while supervisors’ zones are subtly defined using low storage units and integrated greenery, achieving a balance between team accessibility and individual privacy.
Strategically placed informal seating areas serve as short waiting spots or zones for spontaneous, small-scale discussions. Lockers are incorporated at key points, often in combination with seating elements, to enhance functionality and user comfort.
The use of glass partitions and acoustic materials ensures both privacy and operational efficiency. Meanwhile, planters and green elements act as natural visual dividers, fostering a sense of calm and well-being in line with biophilic design principles.
